A witch roommate and a human blogger, what could go wrong?

Ljubica is a middle-aged woman who lives in Zagreb and works as an audio pedagogue with deaf-mute children. She herself has a small child, while her husband she hardly communicates to, works in Germany. Coincidentally, she starts an affair with Zlatko, a much younger yet a man from a wealthy background. Although Zlatko is not much concerned about bourgeois views of his parents and has sincere love for Ljubica, it seems that their relationship has no future...

Moments after being brutally violated, a once starry-eyed girl named Violet wonders through the night traumatized and completely changed. Violet begins to track down the men who have hurt her, determined not to be a compliant victim anymore, and take matters into her own hands. During her blood-soaked journey, she meets a boy named Josh at the one place she gets solace - her favorite lake. Will Josh give her the closure she needs or will revenge be the only way for her to heal?

It seems like everyone in Violet’s family dies at age 55. Her mother did, her father did, and as this movie opens Violet, played by Mary Walsh, learns that her brother, Leonard has also died. He too was 55, an age she is now fast approaching herself. His death causes Violet to begin an existential tailspin as her family gathers round. They are Andrew Younghusband who plays her son Carlos, a gay professor of languages who has returned from Montreal. Actor and director Barry Newhook plays Rex who is a musician and daughter Ramona is played by Susan Kent. As the movie unfolds it turns out that Violet has a lot to live for, including a romance with farm manager Rusty played by Peter MacNeill.

The story follows two solo female travelers who immediately hit it off and decide to team up for the next leg of their adventure. As the journey continues things start to unravel – because neither of the women is who they claim to be.

Sandy McNeil adopts strictly unconventional jazz ethics and against the wishes of her parents runs with a fast young set. An auto breakdown after a party places her in a compromising situation, and she grudgingly marries a wealthy suitor of her father's choice. When her husband's cruelty results in the death of her child, she leaves him and meets Ramon, an architect with whom she becomes infatuated. The return of his former mistress causes her to seek refuge with her cousin Judith, where she falls in love with Douglas, Judith's sweetheart. As Sandy refuses to return to Ramon, he shoots her and then kills himself. Douglas, taking the blame for her sake, is tried for murder, but Sandy rises from her sickbed and confesses in court; she succumbs after restoring Judith to Douglas.

When class bully Irwin taunts Violet about her fat knees (they're not) or deadly sewer gas smell (she doesn't), all she wants to do is shrink away. The thought of being in the class play about the solar system makes her itch and scratch and twirl her hair. But when she's alone or with her best friend, Opal, Violet is a master performer, mimicking her classmates and retaliating against Irwin with razor-sharp wit. Her chance for real-life revenge comes at last during the play, when she plays the offstage role of Lady Space. On opening night, when Irwin, a.k.a. Mars, starts to spin out of control and forgets his lines, Violet saves the day (but not without a little of her savage humor).

Blue’s gift preparations for her beloved Violet transform into something darker when reality picks up the phone.
